Open Farm Sunday
Sunday 8th June, 11am - 4pm
Beyond the gallery site, Durslade is a working farm. This June, we will be joining over 200 farms across the UK for Open Farm Sunday – an annual initiative celebrating the diversity of British farming and the many ways in which the countryside can be farmed, foraged, and maintained.
For this year’s Open Farm Sunday, we’ll take you on a tour of the wider farm on our tractor and trailer. Accompanied by one of our team members, you’ll visit the cattle and sheep and learn about the various breeds we rear. You’ll also discover more about our crops and how we farm here in Somerset.
In the afternoon, head out on a tractor and trailer ride to our vineyard, where you can learn more about our wines and how we care for the vines.
Hop back onto the tractor and trailer and return to Durslade Farm, where you’ll have the opportunity to meet some of our local suppliers and sample the products we create – from our wine and cider to our preserves and foraged goods.
In the old farmyard, take part in a workshop to make your own bath fizz with Bon or foraged headdress with Wild Joy, take part in a scavenger hunt and join Jenna Doodles and Singaling for farm-themed children’s activities. Enjoy live music from Ninotchka and try your hand at drawing with charcoal sticks made in our own charcoal burner.
This event is free to attend. Slots can be booked in advance, and we will also have spaces available on the day for walk-ins. You can also register your interest via the Open Farm Sunday button.
Open Farm Sunday takes place from 11 am – 4 pm.
Roth Bar will be open, serving drinks from 9am – 11pm. Da Costa will be open as usual from 12pm – 4pm.
